The Alliance Francaise of Napa has been at the heart of French cultural exchange in California’s wine country for almost 14 years. Our goal is to share the spirit and culture of Francophone countries through language courses, social activities and community outreach. People of all ages come to the Alliance to improve their language skills, to participate in French cultural activities and to connect with people speaking their native tongue.
Evening courses are offered in French conversation for beginner, intermediate and advanced students. All instructors are native French speakers, and teach in the total immersion method to encourage students to speak French from the very first lesson. Class size is limited to 12 students so students can receive individual attention in small study groups. Courses emphasize conversation and teach grammar and vocabulary as it relates to a particular lesson.
Members enjoy conversation dinners, luncheons, films, Holiday celebrations and field trips and day tours. Chorale, literary and scrabble groups meet regularly at members homes.
In addition, members
have access to more than 1,000 volumes in our library. Assistance is
available for translation and private tutoring.
